Plugging the gap left by Plunket, award-winning juvenile products company, phil&teds, today launches an online car seat rental programme.
A New Zealand first for a car seat brand, the service aims to provide Kiwi parents and caregivers with further access to infant capsules and bases.
phil&teds Chief Executive, Campbell Gower, says “our company’s philosophies are to help parents adapt&survive and live life without limit. Offering this service not only fits with that but also adds another layer of support in meeting the needs of parents - who, at the end of the day, just want to give their babies the best possible start in life.”
The company’s brand websites offer the latest model, super light, alpha™ and protect™ infant car seats. As well as ISOFIX and belt fix bases, for peace of mind and easy installation. With prices starting from $35, rental time frames can be adjusted, case-by-case.
He says “while all hire products come with an instruction guide and installation leaflet, customers can also access installation videos online, as well as speak to one of our many qualified child restraint technicians through our global sales support service.”
The international company has over 20 years of safety experience in designing and engineering products for parents and children.
Renowned Child Restraint Evaluation Program (CREP) recently gave an Australian version of phil&teds’ alpha and base model a solid four out of five star rating – the highest in the group. The program aims to provide consumers with independent information on crash protection performance and ease of use to help caregivers choose and use safe child car seats.
“We’re parents too and just like any parent, we’re serious about safety. While the alpha™ available to rent in New Zealand is not an Australian version - it shares many of the same features. All of our infant car seats are rigorously tested, coupled with international certification for that reassurance of quality. We’ve won a stack of stars and badges because of it!”
New Zealand’s leading mother and baby magazine, OHbaby!, gave the alpha car seat 5 STARS, calling it “compact, safe and comfortable!”
Mr Gower says infant car seats are just the beginning.
“Once the new initiative is successful with parents, we’ll look to add travel systems and boosters into the mix. Click and go convenience at its best!”
