phil&teds has been inducted into the Wellington Region Business Hall of Fame, hosted by the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The annual event honours longevity and sustained business performance, for a period of at least 20 years.
Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce, chief executive, Helen Down, says “this year’s eight inductees are excellent examples of businesses that not only contribute to the regional economy, but also to the overall wellbeing of their respective local communities.
“The aim of the Wellington Region Business Hall of Fame is to recognise and celebrate significant contributions by businesses to the economic and social fabric of our region.”
To be inducted into the Wellington Region Business Hall of Fame, companies are nominated by the business community and are independently researched and judged.
This year’s inductees were selected from a total of 16 nominated businesses. Judges look for evidence companies have not only developed a long-term sustainable business but also have been successful in adapting to change in their industries and markets.
The eight inductees, including phil&teds, Wedgelock Equipment Limited, Hills Hats, Hansells Masterton, Sharpes Stockfeeds, L G Anderson, Flight Plastics and Coastlands Shoppingtown, were officially honoured at a gala event on Friday, 23 August 2019.
